My name is ___, a third year Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) student at Memorial University, and I would like to be considered for a fall accounting position at the Office of the Comptroller General, Department of Finance.

My concentration is accounting and I plan on earning the CPA designation after graduation. Over the winter, I worked at the Centre for Social Enterprise as a marketing and development assistant. I provided administrative support to the manager by attending meetings to record minutes, performing ad hoc research, and liaising with different departments to achieve effective project coordination. I also interned at PwC Malaysia in the Risk Assurance Services (RAS) Department and performed compliance audits for public Oil and Gas companies, looking specifically at the procurement and contracting part and ensuring activities were meeting criteria set out in the internal policies and external legislative requirements.

Through my marketing and development experience, I gained crucial time management and organizational skills to meet sensitive project deadlines. Through my auditing experience, I learnt to be methodical in performing tasks and being professional to my team members and clients. Currently, I am improving on my Excel skills by doing training courses online (Excel Exposure). My knowledge in basic formulas, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables helps me analyze and manipulate data more easily. These are some of the qualities I could offer to the accounting intern position.
