Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Deutsche Bank

POSITION:

Market Risk Analyst

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to submit my resume for the Market Risk Analyst position at Deutsche Bank. I believe that upon review, you will find my skills, qualifications and work experience suitable for the given position.

I graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of X in December 2014. Throughout my graduate studies, I have been trained to quickly learn new fields, to think through problems analytically and to maintain flexibility within demanding schedule. My PhD research focused on the conduct of monetary policy and the informational content of oil derivatives, seeking to understand the dynamics behind decision making and agents’ expectations, respectively.

During my time at Y, I worked on the economic angle of antitrust litigation and analyzed related concepts including market definition, market dynamics, entry conditions, pricing, single firm conduct, agreements, and profitability. I applied economic reasoning, critical thinking, and statistical analysis to a myriad of industries, including financial markets on a daily basis.

My strengths relevant to this position are:

  • Extensive experience in quantitative data analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages for the analysis of economic and financial time series data
  • Experience in the handling and manipulation of large data sets with data management tools
  • Excellent communication skills developed through years of teaching both at the introductory and intermediate levels.
  • I am enthusiastic about exploring opportunities with Deutsche Bank and look forward to discussing your objectives, and how we can work together to accomplish them.

I may be contacted at XX or YY. Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Sincerely,
