I am a sophomore at XXX University, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Finance. Motivated to gain a deeper insight into the global business environment and financial markets dynamics through hands-on practice, I would like to apply that passion and my technical knowledge as a Business Development and Marketing Intern to help facilitate partnerships with international investors, promote client relations and seek potential business opportunities for Dezan Shira & Associates in Shanghai this summer. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Volunteering as a VITA tax return preparer, I maximize individual tax benefits by understanding each client’s needs through carrying out interviews and reviewing tax documents. This responsibility has greatly honed my interpersonal skills and made me a critical listener and efficient communicator skillful at interacting with people from different age groups and diverse backgrounds. My decision-making and multitasking abilities have also been boosted by making optimal judgments for each client in the limited amount of time during the tax season.

• Compatibility for Working Both with Teams and Independently - Being a Hong Kong Student Association Executive Board Member has made me proficient in coordinating between teamwork and independent work, improved my team spirit and strengthened my organizational abilities. I cooperate with other board members in organizing campus events while working on my own to market the events among the student body and survey students to provide feedback to the board.

• Legal Background -My coursework in U.S Legal System and Business Law and my research on criminal justice for my volunteer program in Wake Forest Law School have familiarized me with U.S legal policies and advanced my research strategies. I also gained insight into China’s legal procedures, sharpened my written communication skills and learned to interact with different governmental agencies through my internship in Sheng Yi Law Firm last summer.

• Analytical and Quantitative Abilities - My extensive study of Economics and Finance theories has installed in me a mindset of “modeling,” focusing me on details while keeping my eyes on a bigger picture. This “modeling” mind is supported by my quantitative and analytical abilities acquired from my study of computer science, maths, and logics.
