I graduated in May 20** from ____ University with a double major in Finance and Accounting. During my senior year, I had the opportunity of working for ____ School of Law Legal Clinic where my interest and motivation in pursuing a career in law was confirmed. This experience exposed meto a diverse set of legal issues ranging from employment discrimination to tax issues and provided me with the opportunity to witness the critical role that attorneys play in ensuring justice for all parties in need of representation. Last summer, after completing my first year in law school, I worked as an intern in one of the state’s most recognized Law firms. My internship consisted of a two(2) month rotation program which allowed me to encounter and fulfill tasks for three divisions: Corporate, Labor, and Litigation. Working as an Associate I was able to witness an attorney’s role from a different perspective; furthermore, I gained solid experience in conducting extensive legal research and writing. I am convinced that I have been exposed to a strong foundation of legal concepts and analysis in different areas of law after completing my first year of law school and participating in an associate program last summer.

My goal as a second year law student is to continue fostering and strengthening the skills needed to become a successful lawyer; for this reason, I am extremely interested in being an intern in ____. _____ has an undeniable standing reputation for facing the most challenging cases in the state. I am particularly interested in your summer Associates Program, because of its unique objective intended to expose first and second year law students to the practical aspects of a wide array of legal areas as well as the firm’s atmosphere and culture. The summer program provided by your firm proves your dedication and commitment to the professional development of the young generation that will eventually be responsible of maintaining the reputation and excellence that your firm has credibly established throughout the years. I have no doubt that my educational background and previous experience as a Law Associate will serve as a great advantage in being able to complete the tasks that are required from students in order to excel in this position.
