Sample cover letter for Internship position at Double Effect

I am applying for an Advisory Services intern position at EY, Singapore. I am expecting to graduate in May 2017.

I have always been interested in a career with EY as numerous people I know work at the firm and they have had only positive things to say. Through my conversations with my cousin (Manager, Assurance Services at EY) and my friend (Analyst, Performance Improvement, Advisory Services at EY) I was able to get a long term as well as a day to day perspective of the work culture and long term growth prospects at EY and I truly connected with their description of the firm. Furthermore EY moves past pure strategy consulting to help clients actually implement the strategies, and I believe that this is where real value is delivered. This combined with EY’s global footprint, results in the firm delivering high level impact to clients around the world. It is due to these factors that I believe EY is an ideal place for me to build a career.

If accepted, I will bring the following qualities to the organisation

Analytical Skills – Through my time in  Consulting, I have developed my analytical skills by engaging in case solving activities that have taught me to break down problems logically and in a structured manner.

Communication and Presentation Skills – My participation and engagement in Theatre and Drama has made me comfortable in front of an audience and has made me a confident, articulate and persuasive speaker

Teamwork Ability – As a part of numerous sports teams, I have developed the ability to thrive in a team and bring out the best in my teammates as well as myself while maintaining relationships and professionalism

I hope to end up working at EY one day and hope that an internship with the organisation will be a stepping stone for me to achieve this.
