Dear DOW internship recruiter committee:

I’m a third-year student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign writing to apply for the research and development summer intern program at DOW. I am interested in handling chemicals and am very keen on improving my technical skills and learning exactly what an industrial researcher does on a day-to-day basis.

Through my strong Chemistry and Biology laboratory background experience in class and also working as Chemistry Stockroom Assistant, I have developed outstanding attention to detail and safety practices of handling chemicals in laboratory environment. While I was vice president of the DVC American Chemical Society, I learn how to manage and delegate task while managing my time between my organization and my schoolwork. My experience in taking critical thinking class and being a secretary of the Associated Students of Diablo Valley College have strengthen my critical thinking, strategizing, evaluating and data analysis skills, which I believe would make me an asset to the Research and development department at DOW.
