Please accept my cover letter for the Project Analyst position currently available at Dyncorp. I understand that we are in the midst a recession, and as unemployment rises — your inbox fills with applicants. This short letter and attachments are my life’s work thus far. I thank you for taking a minute out of your day to read it.

My name is XXXXXX, I am a senior at XXXXXX University studying Marketing with a focus in Economics. Currently I work part-time for the XXXXXXX Department of Higher Education and XXXXXXXXXX, an interactive marketing agency in Kansas City. I recently finished up my collegiate athletic career last fall, and have relished in the extra time that I have been able to spend towards my career; traveling, and enjoying life outside football. As a student, I was able to travel Europe, complete two internships within the industry, work as a dive master in Central America, and keep meaningful part-time jobs that I still maintain.

Along the way learning time-management, teamwork, and gaining perspective that will continue to help me the rest of my life.

Here are a few of the projects I have worked on:

  • Developed a marketing concept that saved more than $20,000
  • Wrote proposal for $25,000 grant from state of Missouri, managed budget as well as work-study students
  • Established marketing program that increased participation 143% from the previous year
  • Collaborated with a designer to develop media for a kiosk within Sprint Center in Kansas City
  • Managed user account inquiries for a a multi-million dollar account
  • Worked with creative writer and CFO to develop content for a Podcast recorded at Kansas City
