I am currently studying for a BSc Honours degree in Politics and Economic, a four year sandwich course with an integrated placement year. Following my placement year, I intend to continue to work in finance.
As someone who is a keen and motivated individual, this placement position will give me the opportunity to develop my understanding of the Finance industry and how the global market functions. I will also be able to gain a hands on experience and thoroughly explore the tax division of finance. I will be in an environment and part of a team that has solidified its place in the global market as an efficient and reliable financial service provider.
Ernst and Young has a positive effect on the lives of many people as this is one of the world’s biggest financial service provider and has solidified its place in the global market, this will be great to be part of. As I am taking a module in International Business, I believe that this will be extremely helpful as I will have a greater understanding of the international market and domestic market, this is very crucial to being part of the Human Capital team. Additionally my commercial awareness will be greatly heightened. The Financial services day to day activities, is highly influenced by the status of the markets, this module will give me the skills I need to thoroughly interpret the market and make decisions which will be for the betterment and prosperity of Ernst and Young and its customers.
I have excellent numerical and analytical skills which were shown in statistical assignments I have completed to very high standards, which required me to use extensively Word, Excel and SPSS. Coupled with my ability to be highly adaptable and work effectively in a fast paced environment I have no doubt that this is the right placement for my skill set. My experience in fashion retail has given me the ability to sharpen up the ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines, but still executing tasks to an exceptional standard, as this was a vital part of working on the shop floor. Being part of a university which is very diverse and draws in people from all walks of life, this has given be the scope to enhance my communication skills as I am constantly conversing with various different people and enhance my understanding of different cultures.
