Tax Trainee
Recently Graduated Russian Speaking Lawyer with an interest in Taxation
Being a Master of Laws graduate with an interest in Business Taxation and assisting in the solving of the global tax landscape problems, I am applying for this Trainee position. At the University of Helsinki, I enrolled in a course about cross-border Mergers & Acquisitions conducted in English, wrote my Bachelor Thesis about financing the acquisition of company shares and wrote my Master Thesis about Mining Taxation. In addition to the study of Law, I have found myself drawn to the study of Corporate Governance, Finance and Business.
In 2011 I was selected in the Summer Law and English Program at the University of Southern California. This program is for international law students who want to get acquainted with Legal English Terminology and are interested in the American Legal System. I took classes in Business Contracts, Business Law, Tort Law, the American Constitution, and studied numerous court cases.
My German is of high standard, since I studied in Graz, Austria, where I took classes in both English and German. My studies included: International Business Contracts, Space Law and introduction to Common Law.
In July 2016, I returned from Yekaterinburg, Russia where I studied for a year in a Russian language course at the Ural Federal University. Besides this I was auditing classes at the Ural Finance and Law Institute and Ural State Mining University.
I have a proactive mindset and a sense of responsibility. My former employers have given me credit for performing well under pressure, and have complimented me on my work ethic, creativity as well as my ability to multitask. I am used to working independently and possess excellent collaboration skills which is why I would be an excellent fit for the different Cross -border Taxation teams.
Before I got accepted to the University of Helsinki I used to be a figure skater for sixteen years. Along with the physical benefits, I have learned how to better manage my time when I have to balance my responsibilities. I believe that my internationally oriented work experience and studies, combined with an interest in Business Taxation would make me an excellent choice for this position. I am looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to Ernst & Young Oy, and the Business Taxation Team in particular.
