After attending the information session regarding EY’s Emerging Leaders Program, I am very eager to apply for the externship. The opportunities that this two to three day program offers seem very beneficial and interesting to me. As you are one of the big four accounting firms, I’d love to learn more about the industry with such a reputable company. Currently, I’m a sophomore in the ________ concentrating in finance and accounting.

I have been always been very motivated and proactive in my business and leadership related endeavors both within and outside of the classroom. I founded a DJing company in 11th grade that has provided services for various high school dances, Bar Mitzvahs, and parties. As the head of this company, I have learned the importance of organizing and keeping track of my finances, found ways to reduce costs, and have also realized the importance of developing good relations with clients and customers. I invented a book buyback system online for my high school during my senior year there. I bought books back from students for a slightly higher price than competitors and sold them back at a slightly lower price, while making profit on the margins. Through designing the website and catalog system, I learned and became more familiar with back-end coding, as well.

While I always knew about the ELP program, the information session I attended really sold me on it. The benefits and knowledge from being in this program seem like a great first step into building my professional career.
