Sample cover letter for Internship position at Easyship

POSITION:

Business Development Intern

May 9th, 2016

Charlotte Lollieron-Bernard

Easyship

3/F Unit B, Cheung Kong Factory Building

6 Cheung Yee Street,

Kowloon, Hong Kong

Dear Ms. Lollieron-Bernard:

I am a first-year student at the University of Chicago pursuing Economics with a minor in Statistics, and I am writing to express my interest in Easyship’s Business Development Internship. This program interests me because I appreciate the mission of Easyship and I am highly motivated and dedicated to learning on the job. I believe that my background in research and operations, along with the analytical and leadership skills I have cultivated as a result, would be a great asset to your office.

At the University of Chicago, I am a Research Assistant at the Becker Friedman Institute for Economic Research (BFI). I use Qualtrics and Microsoft Excel amongst other programs to create, beta test, input and analyze data from experimental quizzes. At BFI, I have gained quantitative and organizational skills while balancing different projects simultaneously in a dynamic, face-paced environment alongside research professionals. I am also an analyst with the on-campus organization Smart Woman Securities (SWS), where I conduct industry research and analysis.

The prospect of working side-by-side as a Business Development Intern with the co-founding team of Easyship excites me. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about my qualifications.
