Dear Eller College Admissions Committee:

I am applying to be a Finance major at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management. The Finance major offers a wide variety of opportunities as both a student and alumni. A Finance degree is very versatile and would help me to hone a skillset that I could only get through major studies. I am interested in pursuing a career in Investing or as a Financial Analyst. With a degree in Finance, I can gain a skillset and knowledge that will allow me to thrive in these fields.

The Eller College of Management prides itself on the personal qualities of its students, such as integrity, dedication, leadership, and an eagerness to learn. Through my professional experience as a shift leader at --------, I believe I fostered and demonstrated the qualities that this college prides itself on. When I first began working at The -------, the storefront had yet to open. I was one of the first employees hired, and through diligent work I was quickly promoted to be a shift manager within 2 weeks of employment. Instead of spending my summer leisurely, I worked 6 days out of the week and through this role, was responsible for managing the store for up to 9 hours at a time. I gained experience as a leader by being responsible for up to 20 employees, and I personally had to deal with any difficult situations with customers or issues with the storefront, as I was often the highest level of management in the store at times. As one of the first employees and first management positions, I helped get the store off of its feet by working long, diligent hours. By the end of my time at --------, sales averaged $4,000 per day, which was approximately 25% higher than expected. I believe that my participation in the quick growth of this company shows my leadership skills, work ethic, and dedication.

I believe that I could bring many desirable traits to the Eller College of Management. If accepted as a Finance major, I bring a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn and better myself through this College. Maintaining this eagerness will help me to thrive in this College and inspire others to do the same through my participation in projects with others.
