My name is XYZ, an undergraduate student in ABC Institute of Technology, doing Bachelors in Technology under the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering. I am in my penultimate year and firmly believe that an opportunity to pursue an internship with Food Corporation of India during the month of May 2012 to June 2012 (for a period of about 8 weeks) will be good fortune on my part.

I have developed an immense interest on Supply Chain Management during my course as an agricultural engineer due to its dynamic nature and skill that it demands. I have a keen interest in the subject and wish to pursue it for my higher studies upon the completion of my undergraduate degree. This summer intern will provide me with deeper understanding of the subject and also teach me that is required of me to be successful in this field.

I strongly believe that my organizational skills and outgoing personality will enable me to contribute to company’s high standards. I am confident that I'd be a useful member of your team if given an opportunity. I would be more than privileged to learn about our company's plans and goals, and collectively work for its success, under the guidance of a person of your stature.
