Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you regarding my application for the role of Consultant on your Graduate Programme, which I saw advertised on the TotalJobs website. I was immediately drawn in after seeing that FactSet is one of few companies that has enjoyed 18 successful consecutive years of growth. What stood out to me about FactSet was its Community Outreach mission. Not being from a wealthy background myself I am extremely excited by the prospect of being able to work at a leading provider of financial data and analytic applications whilst giving back to the community.

My experience working at a property management company, being the main point of contact for various clients, whilst helping to develop and support bespoke functionality, has prepared me for this client-oriented yet technical role. I have demonstrated my ability to perform under pressure as I continuously met and exceeded client expectations in meeting service level agreements, which resulted in me being the youngest company member to be promoted to the Service Pack Upgrade team. In addition to my experience at Qube, I am also a Computer Science Graduate from Loughborough University. My university curriculum has prepared me for any challenges in software developing, machine learning and various stages of the software implementation cycle. I believe that my technical know-how, coupled with my career experience, will be key to adapting to the challenging demands of your organisation.

Throughout my studies I have also kept up my passion for both music and sport. Working as a piano teacher for over four years has helped me develop invaluable interpersonal skills that have given me a unique approach when dealing with clients. Playing basketball to a competitive level both at University and thereon, serves as an example of my drive, commitment and ability to work well as part of a team.

I take pride in my determination and hard-working attitude. I believe that my technical background coupled with my client-facing experience, shows that I have the skills necessary to thrive in the FactSet Consulting Graduate Programme. Furthermore, my colleagues and teammates can attest to how I motivate those around me to do their tasks as well as involve everyone in working towards a common goal. I enjoy working to tight deadlines and doing any work necessary to contribute towards a project’s success.
