Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the FactSet Graduate Consultant Role (February 2017).

I am currently studying for an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management at Cass Business school and I hold a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Business Finance and Economics from the University of East Anglia. My educational background is a well-balanced combination of theory and application. During the 3 years of my undergraduate degree and currently on my MSc, I have studied topics such as Quantitative Economic Research, Financial modelling, Risk modelling, and Finance and Accounting; the mathematical and modelling skills learned from these modules have given me an excellent foundation for building a career. I am committed to understanding the real world application of quantitative data and models.

What particularly excites me when applying for FactSet’s Graduate Consultant role is that it provides the perfect opening for me - a young graduate- to apply my knowledge and skills into a meaningful career. Working as a consultant is ideal as I am keen to learn as much as possible whilst working within a growing industry. The variety of opportunities offered in this field is unrivalled. I believe working for FactSet will offer an amazing opportunity for me to progress professionally towards my career goals and also personally as an individual within their firm.

It is clear through watching the video featuring the consulting team that it is an enjoyable place to work, where relevant skills and attributes are rewarded appropriately.

I believe I am a well-matched candidate for the Graduate Consulting role and for FactSet. In addition to teamwork, attention to detail and great communication skills, other qualities that I consider paramount to my personal and professional success are the abilities to self motivate and use my own initiative. I strongly believe that my passion to utilise my interpersonal and analytical skills to make a difference will make me a valuable asset to FactSet.
