Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Fender

POSITION:

Manufacturing Engineer

Dear Hiring Manager,

It is with great enthusiasm that I am submitting my application for the Manufacturing Engineer position at Fender Musical Instrument Corporation. My education, passion for engineering, and love for music make me the ideal candidate for this position.

When I was in 8th grade my parents bought my first Stratocaster; wide-eyed and eager, I was in love. High school passed in a flash and soon was faced with the question to determine the next few years in college: what to major in. It was between the practical choice, engineering, or what I wanted to do since receiving my first Strat, music.

I pursued engineering with the desire of one day combining my two passions as an engineer for a major musical instrument manufacturer and distributor. Fender epitomizes this sentiment.

I finished my B.S in Mechanical Engineering and got SolidWorks Certified. I’ve since worked at Esterline Mason as a Design Engineer focusing on Jurisdiction and Classification. While working, I spent the first few months studying for the FE Exam and tested May 25th. I received my results and am proud to say I passed. My application has been submitted to the Board of Professional Engineers and am now pending my EIT Certification. I now plan on pursuing the ASME GD&T Certification. I’ve learned a great deal about engineering outside of academia but realize I want to get continue pursuing engineering for an instrument manufacturer.

Given the opportunity, I know I will bring a lot to the position. My past experiences have taught me to be a teachable person and am always a contributing member to whatever team I’m on. I’m highly detailed-oriented, enjoy thinking through complex problems, and perhaps most importantly, have a deep understanding of the Fender product line and history.

I believe I would be a stellar asset to your team and am looking forward to hearing from you and discussing my candidacy. Please feel free to contact me either at (xxx) xxx-xxxx or via email at [email protected]. Thank you for your time and consideration.
