     I am a X University alumnus applying for the Recent Graduate – Junior Assistant position at your firm. Having a strong 

desire to enter the finance industry after founding my own company and interning at an investment bank, I am excited to have 

my qualifications reviewed by your institution.

     Initially a science student with strong analytical skills, I switched to a political science degree to better my oral and writing 

mastery of English. Always having a strong desire to enter the finance industry, I kept most aspects of my studies focused on 

finance, econometrics and computer sciences. 

     In addition to my academic training, I have accumulated professional experience  in the fields of Startups, Real Estate and 

Investment Banking. Launching my own company, I have gained invaluable  experience creating and executing a business 

plan, developing a product, leading a team of employees, as well as adapting  myself to unexpected circumstances. When my 

company was in financial distress I did everything to find a job in real estate in  order to guarantee its survival. I then 

successfully raised $X from a private investor and negotiated a $X credit with a  leading software development 

company in Silicon Valley. I know from previous professional experiences that I thrive when I  work with highly qualified 

individuals in an intellectually challenging environment. During my spell at XXX, an investment boutique specialized in 

small-cap M&A in the technology industry, I was part of the London office made up of only two Associate Directors and the 

Managing Partner. Working closely with such highly qualified individuals helped me gain tremendous exposure to the 

investment banking industry and build up the necessary skills to become a successful financier. To operate effectively within a 

financial environment, one must be tenacious, analytical, and highly dedicated. I can assure you that as a member of your 

team, I would bring these attributes to your firm. Unfortunately, I do not possess much experience in the banking industry to 

boast about my achievements. However; I can guarantee you that I am the ideal candidate for this position. I know that my 

perseverance and dedication in my work will drive my success at your firm, form which you will directly benefit. I do not want to 

sound pretentious but I have great confidence in my intellectual and personal capabilities to excel in this position. At XXX  I 

surpassed all expectations by generating exemplary work that matched the working standards of my superiors. After only two 

months at the firm, I was already preparing financial analyses and presentations that were directly presented to potential 

investors. Similarly, when I joined XYZ I worked under the direct supervision of a senior broker, Mr. X. I quickly adapted myself 

to the requirements of becoming a successful broker. My wit and my interpersonal skills helped me close three deals in nine 

months as I brought in many new clients from the restaurant and fashion industries. Everywhere I’ve worked I have left a very 

strong impression on my superiors and colleagues, and I expect nothing less but to repeat this in my next endeavor. Looking 

back at my personal journey, I had the most fulfilling experiences working in such small yet extremely qualified teams and 

where overachievement is the norm, where team spirit, leadership and hard work are core drivers of the business. Thus, I am 

very interested in learning more about your company in order to determine if this job opportunity aligns well with my career 

aspirations.
