Dear Mr. Melnyk,

I came to the Bay Area to study Entrepreneurship and Finance in UC Berkeley and during my Business Opportunity’s class, my professor talked about Fitbit. Since then, I’ve created a connection with the company. The idea of using technology to create a better experience during physical activities just got me. Personally, apart from the profit that is necessary for every business, I think that all companies should have a mission to change people’s life and that’s exactly what Fitbit is doing, by stimulating and giving a device that will help people to be healthy.

I worked for one year and eight months in a startup in Brazil as a Treasury Analyst and I have experience on dealing with 200 payments per week, including invoices, bank transfer and payroll. As every startup, in the beginning, they didn’t have any process for my activities, so I had to create them. Among my duties, I had to track daily, weekly and monthly all payments and make sure that we would use our money efficiently, which means that I had to check on every document the due date, the due amount (excluding taxes), if it was approved by the management team, either manually or through the SAP, according to our policy, and then tell the manager if we would have enough money to make all payments on the next week and month. Besides, in the end of the month I was responsible for the Bank Account reconciliation, for this activity, the accounting team and I worked together to make sure that everything was matching on the SAP, Bankline and our Cash Flow.

I would love to work in Fitbit, first, because I support people to be more active, for example, in my family we have a history of heart disease problems and I try to stimulate my brother and parents to eat and be healthy. Be part of a company that has as mission to inspire people to live a healthier life, would be a perfect match with my personal goal. Moreover, on the business perspective, Fitbit had a great performance on the last quarter, with an increase of 46% year-over-year in Revenues and the expansion of the business with Alta and Blaze revenues, Alibaba’s relationship that brought more visibility and the entry into China, Korea and Japan markets. Therefore, it would be a tremendous experience to work in such expanding environment.
