Dear Mr. Flynn:

I am writing to inquire about an internship position as a summer Analyst at Flynn Holdings. When pursuing Sociology as an undergraduate concentration, I always encounter research materials that address social issues related to food consumption and housing, which makes restaurant and real estate industries particularly appealing to me. Therefore, I am excited to apply the skills I have obtained from analyzing social phenomenon to an internship, or I’d rather think of as a learning program, with a business such as Flynn Holdings and gain insights about restaurant and real estate industries through an economic perspective.

I’ve interned as the Assistant to the General Manager to research the macro handrail-metal and real estate markets and analyze the micro organizational structure of the company. After reviewing the company-wide sale results, I proposed a potential business model to the Executive Board. These works allowed me to adequately apply both critical reasoning and technical analysis, while the statistics and writing classes at school helped me refine these skills.

 I look forward to working on research projects and initiatives with professionals in the industry and learning as much as I can about the interrelationship between research schemes and corporate strategies.
