Dear Hiring Manager:

I would like to express my interest in a data scientist position at GE.

My educational background in physics (B.S. at National Tsing Hua University) and engineering (M.S. at National Taiwan University) provided me a strong sense of quantitative discipline, and hands-on research ability (data collection, data analysis). My research has successfully combined nanotechnology with cancer therapy, and published in an international journal.

My internship as an analyst in a venture capital gave me an exposure to wide variety of industries and portfolio companies. I’m able to pick up new things fast and work collaboratively and productively with others.

As a data enthusiast and self-motivated person, to strengthen my ability to become a data analyst, I self-taught myself with many online courses, and have completed several projects. These projects included presenting findings in the relation between MLB’s baseball pitchers’ performance and their salaries, wrangling large dataset and the use of SQL on OpenStreetMap, and identifying financial fraud by implementing machine learning.

I am a passionate individual who focuses not just on the quantity of my work, but on the quality of my work. I believe I would be a good fit for your company because I am a proactive, and responsible person.
