Sample cover letter for Full Time position at GE
Field Engineer
July 08, 2016
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am submitting an application for the Field Engineer position at Miele. As a post-graduate student I am ear to start my professional career. I hope to demonstrate that I possess the skills necessary to contribute to your business.
Professional Experience – During my full-time internship at Zwick-Roell, I engage in field engineer responsibilities which included instrument installation, maintenance, and on-site customer support. Based on recognition of my effective communication skills and team-working capabilities, I was nominated by the company to attend a valuable training opportunity with engineers from other countries.
Strong Troubleshooting Initiative – In 2010, China was suffering from an economic crisis and companies were reducing their recruiting activities at University of Shanghai. The outreach department I led had difficulty raising sufficient funds, typically provided by companies through on-campus informational sessions. Students also became less interested in job searches, instead favoring professional certifications. I noticed both these trends, and was able to focus our team on developing information sessions hosted by certification training agencies. Based on this change in approach, my team was able to raise 12k in funds, which was 15% greater than the previous year’s fund raising efforts.
Why a Field Engineer? –A field engineer position requires significant engineering knowledge, but more importantly he/she must be able to apply this knowledge in practical and real-time situations. Furthermore, field engineers need to communicate effectively and act as a liaison between both the customer and his/her respective team members. I think these are two skillsets that I possess and enjoy applying in the work environment.
Additional information regarding my skills and qualifications are outlined on my resume. I would very much appreciate an opportunity to discuss how I can meet the demands of this role and advance the overall direction . Thank you for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Dong Liu
