Sample cover letter for Internship position at GIC

POSITION:

Finance Internship

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is [Name] and I am currently a Year 2 Economics student at [School]. I was recently introduced to GIC’s internship openings via the university’s email and I have been very impressed with your company’s culture and values, especially the emphasis on learning and teamwork. I am very interested in pursuing a Finance/Investment Operations Internship position at your company, and I hope that you can take a moment to review my resume and background information below.

I have previously interned at a start up restaurant. Through this internship, I have gained well-rounded experiences and skills in various aspects of a business, such as sales, marketing, accounting and pricing strategies. I also had the privilege of being the vice-captain of my school’s basketball team for five years, where I was able to hone my leadership, teamwork and most importantly, learn essential life skills through the sport.

The well-developed investment framework adopted at GIC and the transparency about the investment approach, which your company exhibits, particularly impresses me. I do not have much experience in investment, risk or fund management. However, I am very keen and excited about the learning opportunities given to the interns, and I look forward to joining and contributing to your company.

A copy of my resume is enclosed for your reference. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you and learn more about GIC at your earliest convenience. I can be reached at [Phone Number] or via email at [Email]. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
[Name]
