To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you to apply for the XXX as advertised on your website, and have attached my CV outlining my wider educational background and work experience.

I am motivated by understanding real estate as a real asset as well as in the context of an investment asset and therefore, how it acts as an investment vehicle in the financial markets. I am currently studying for a XXX Business School, through which I am supplementing my knowledge of the industry, financial markets and developing directly applicable skills of cash flow modelling and analysing markets. Further to developing my knowledge of the real estate industry, studying abroad has exposed me to a new culture and people from different nations, expanding my interpersonal skills in a diverse environment.

Through both academic and workplace experience I have developed comprehensive understanding of real estate. During my time as an intern for XXX at XXX, I assessed a shopping centre (ca. XXX m). I examined the macro and micro location, identifying existing competitors, and reporting my recommendation for the site. In order to determine an appropriate market rent for the building, I aggregated the spaces of the existing shops to form bigger areas, which I then compared to the XXX data base. For the final validation of the calculated market value of the site I searched for comparables and analysed them.

As previously mentioned I believe the soft skills I possess such as interpersonal skills and adaptability are of equal importance to my analytical skills. My internship at XXX covered the stronger year-end-business. During this time, I was working on two projects, which lead to long working hours. My reflexive and approachable personality was integral to my success in this group environment; my ability to communicate with and work within several teams ensured that I was valued member throughout the projects, as well as supporting the assistance team.

In conclusion, my particular interest in joining GIC is founded in my ambition to be an active contributor to the values of the company. I wish to further develop the skills I have already acquired, and the breadth and depth of knowledge implicit in the excellent and sustainable environment of GIC provide the optimum environment in which to do so.
