Sample cover letter for Internship position at Gateway to Leadership

My name is C----- A W----- and I am searching for an internship position within the Financial Services industry. I learned about Gateway to Leadership through a previous intern and good friend, A----- C----------, and went to an information session held at Bennett College back in 2014.

I am currently a junior at North Carolina A&T State University majoring in Finance and am looking to gain real world experience in my field. As Financial Management Association (FMA) President and a Supplemental Instructor for Business Finance, I am strengthening and expanding my knowledge and understanding of financial systems and concepts. The internship opportunities provided through Gateway to Leadership are the obvious choice to further my development.

With a background in Physics, I have a very analytical approach to everything that I undertake. I have taken great care in gaining an understanding of the financial, accounting, and economic principles that underlie the financial services industry, conveyed by my 3.87 GPA. I have a great desire to learn and apply my knowledge in actual industry practices and feel that the internship, as well as the Leadership Conference and Case Competition will be excellent avenues to continue to broaden and strengthen my foundation.
