Dear Hiring Manager,
As a recognized leader in the design, development and manufacture of turboprop engines, GE is one of the most innovative companies in the world, and I am eager to apply my skills and abilities in such a dynamic and growing company. Since it is my hope to apply my knowledge and skills in such a dynamic and growing company, I am applying for Mechanical Design Engineer position within your company.
I am interested in starting my career in your company because it offers amazing opportunities for someone with my background. Indeed each employee at GE has the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds in the world. This opportunity allows each team player to constantly learn from their high-achieving colleagues while creating teams that are able to solve any challenge that they may face. Also, the cases that are brought forward to GE are amongst the hardest and most challenging; this challenge makes a career at GE intriguing and exciting.
I believe that I possess certain key characteristics that demonstrate why the GE environment would be the right setting for me to work in. A first trait is my passion for teamwork and leadership. During the spring of 2015, I assembled a team of five individuals to take part in an international competition known as the SAE Aero Design Competition; the goal of this competition was to design and build an unmanned air vehicle to perform a specified mission. My role as project manager required a great deal of leadership skills to maintain team cohesion and to ensure our team’s alignment on project goals. With this guidance, as well as the support of all members, we succeeded in attaining 2nd place. Moreover over the past couple of years I have been involved in various team-based projects that have strengthened my interpersonal skills and have made me attain solid communication techniques. I am also fluently trilingual in French, English and Arabic.
