Sample cover letter for Internship position at Genzyme

POSITION:

Technical Support

Dear Hiring Manager,

Long before I obtained my Chemical Engineering degree, I was looking for a reputable company that I could not only grow and develop with over time, but one that could also afford me the opportunity to sustain lives of others on a daily basis. Upon reviewing your company’s website, I was immediately drawn to the Technical Support Specialist opportunity for professional development that it would allow in regard to the technology transfer and scale-up of chemical processes in pharmaceutical industry.

The professional positions I have held in the past have left me with a wealth of knowledge that I consider precious for my future career development. Some of the key skills and capabilities that I can bring include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with two (2) years of combined experience in industrial and research laboratories, pharmaceutical facility, and a food processing plant

Proficiency in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) that are applicable to completion of Batch Production Records (BPRs)

Experience working in a primary shift within a unionized manufacturing environment

Solid hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and chemical processing equipment

Strong knowledge of and experience in Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement methodology

I look forward to discussing this opportunity with you in the near future, as I believe that my strengths and passions will provide an excellent fit. I would welcome the opportunity to exercise the abilities and instincts I already have, as well as the opportunity to continually improve.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
