Sample cover letter for Internship position at Godaddy

POSITION:

software development

Re: Internship-SDET-Presence and commerce

Dear Selection Committee:

I am currently doing my first year master’s in computer science at Arizona state university and looking for summer Internship at GoDaddy. I completed my bachelor’s with major as Computer Engineering. I am very inspired by the growth of GoDaddy from a startup to largest domain registrar in short span of seven years in the present competitive world full of emerging startups. As a candidate with a strong academic background, relevant experience, and communications skills, I am confident that I could make a positive and productive contribution to your organization.

My attached resume gives evidence of my strong performance in my coursework. My coursework has given me a rich mixture of both the theoretical and practical sides of my field. For example, my bachelor’s thesis in the theoretical field i.e, graph theory where we actually designed a new and efficient algorithm for testing if a given graph is “2k2 free” made me strong in computer science foundational concepts like algorithms, data structures etc. This strength in basics contrasted well with my practical skills in actually designing and developing an automated application for ‘course feedback’ using HTML, CSS, and PHP which is currently being implemented across various departments of our institute. This practical experience made me strong in various stages of software development.

In addition to my strong academic background, I also have past experience working in the field of web development. In the summer of 2013, I worked as a web developer for a startup by students of our institute. As part of the team, I was responsible for the design and development of the website. I was required to use HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript skills for the development.

I look forward to meeting with you to further discuss my suitability for this position. I can be contacted at  or via email
