Sample cover letter for Internship position at Goldman Sachs

Dear Mr./Ms.,

I am a first year student at Bocconi University, graduating in 2015 in the Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance (BIEMF) program. I have chosen the program entirely taught in English, as one of my goals is to work abroad.

I am very interested in a summer experience in UK or in US from the end of June to the end of July.
First of all, I am interested in improving English, and for this reason I would like to get enrolled in a position where I could speak to people.
Moreover, I would like to experience how international companies works, as a way to discover which type of career is more suitable for me.
Next year I will have to choose a university program between Economics, Management and Finance: at the moment I am uncertain between Management and Finance, and therefore I hope to clarify my ideas during this summer, working in an international company.

I believe my personality is very well suited to get a summer job: I am a very hard worker and determined to achieve the objectives I set for myself. I am reliable, and this is why I have been elected class representative for many years.
I am also a team player: I have always enjoyed dealing with people, both my peers and others who have more experience.

As an example of a recent team activity, last spring I won a project-based competition in Milan known as “I Giovani e le Scienze 2012”, and my team and I were selected to present our project in the 25^th MILSET Science Fairs World Summit in Mexico.

I really hope to be selected to participate to a summer internship.
