I am writing to apply for the role of summer analyst intern, advertised on the Goldman Sachs careers page. I was excited to see the open position, especially after reading that the firm was ranked in the top 50 Best Companies to Work For in Fortune magazine.

One of my strengths is to be able to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team. I was selected to attend Headstart maths summer school held at Lancaster University. I worked with 4 other students from various educational backgrounds on university mathematics problems. For this reason, I would be able to adapt quickly to an environment that values diversity, which I am aware Goldman Sachs is committed to.

I am very interested in the latest developments in technology. This inspired me to learn a number of programming languages, including Java, C, and Matlab, to an advanced level. If I were given the opportunity to intern for Goldman Sachs, I would be very eager to learn to use new software and programming languages.

My aptitude for problem solving has been reflected through my module marks in the first year of my degree. I can tackle a problem with confidence, and present a solution clearly and concisely. I would implement this skill when working in a team to solve problems that are faced by Goldman Sachs' clients.
