Dear Hiring Manager,

My name is Tuan Vu, an MBA candidate of class 2018 at International University of Japan. I would like to apply for the Equity Research Summer Internship Programme.

I graduated from Banking – Finance major of Banking Academy of Vietnam, with the score ranking in top 5% of the university. In 2014, I led the Representative team of my university to join National CFA Research Challenge in Vietnam, which gave me a chance to attend intensive training held by CFA Charterholders on financial analysis, valuation methodologies and advanced financial modeling. In the competition, our team performed company valuation for the biggest mobile and appliances retailing company in Vietnam by using the Discount Cash Flow analysis and building a fully-integrated financial statements projection model.

In addition to my university career, my internship with Milestone Turnaround Management Co., LTD, a private equity firm based in Tokyo, Japan provided me with an opportunity to apply what I have learnt into practice and reinforce the analysis skill. My main responsibility in the internship was to carry out the detailed analysis on mid-sized companies with asset size above $10 million to identify potential investment buyout and forecast the business performance of portfolio companies. Besides, I assisted associates in preparing documents, which updated the current state, business performance of portfolio companies for monthly Limited Partner Meetings.

With a strong passion for doing quantitative and comparative analysis, the eagerness and willingness to learn new things, a serious working attitude, which is Proactive – Dedicated – Patient in whatever I do, I guarantee to devote my best and fulfill all missions in the internship.
