Please find attached my curriculum vitae in relation to the above position.

As requested the following is a brief synopsis of my motivation for applying for an internship with your company.

‘The Financial Services industry supports almost every business transaction on a day-to-day basis; banking and insurance services, manufacturing, imports and exports, construction, are all supported by different frameworks developed by financial services. It links together those willing to lend with those looking to borrow e.g. somebody looking to expand and grow their business. I believe it would be very interesting and rewarding to help people achieve their goals and ambitions.

The Financial markets are changing and evolving every day, which means there is always the possibility to learn more; the industry is large and diverse and risk needs to be managed.

M&A advisory can help businesses to optimally structure transactions and access new markets, products, technologies, and sources of finance. M&A teams can work to tight deadlines, providing expert and technical specialists with industry knowledge. I would very much like to accept the challenge of working in this area.

I am extremely interested in Greenhill & Co as the company has global reach, exposing the firm to a wide variety of international clients. It has an excellent reputation as ‘A Unique Investment Banking Firm’.

The internship programme at Greenhill & Co interests me greatly because it presents the opportunity to work for an independent investment bank, and being able to meet with and learn from senior professional experts in delivering client assignments.

I believe Greenhill & Co can be differentiated from their competitors in that they are sector specialists rather than generalists, their business strategy is to specialise on advising their clients in financial deals in all major industry sectors. Within banking I am most interested in advisory work, so I find the fact that Greenhill & Co has a focus on this area compelling.

I am an ambitious individual who is keen to learn and develop my skills in my chosen field of delivering quality financial analysis and evaluation to business clients. I thrive on hard work and enjoy the challenge of meeting stretching personal goals and contributing to team objectives and timescales by demonstrating my flexibility and commitment. I have a logical and organised approach and pay great attention to detail and the accuracy of my work. I am an effective written and verbal communicator and would welcome the opportunity to enhance these valuable skills in a fast paced and dynamic environment such as M&A advisory or other work within the financial services sector.

Taking into account the above, the ideal culture which I would relish working in would be one that sets stretching personal and team objectives, whilst supporting its employees and allowing them to develop as a part of a highly experienced and motivated team. Such a business culture would allow me to push myself to learn more and more from colleagues who are experts in their field and genuinely interested in their work’.
