Sample cover letter for Internship position at HKMA

POSITION:

HKMA Information Centre Student Ambassador Programme

August 22, 2013

Hong Kong Monetary Authority

55/F., Two International Finance Centre,

8 Finance Street, Central, Hong Kong

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am a student of Integrated BBA programme of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). I would like to apply for the HKMA Information Centre Student Ambassador Programme 2013-2014.

According to your recruitment website of student ambassadors, being one of them should speak fluent Cantonese, English and Putonghua and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

I have fluency in Cantonese, English and Putonghua. In HKDSE, I got 5* and 5 in Chinese speaking and English speaking respectively. Besides, I have got A- for two Putonghua courses (Intermediate Putonghua and Advanced Putonghua) which were held by the CUHK. I am sure that I can communicate well with people who speak in the above three languages when assisting in the operation of the HKMA Information Centre.

Gaining knowledge of the work of the HKMA and other related financial issues is one of the major reasons that attract me to join this meaningful programme. I am interested in finance and I am going to choose finance as the concentration in my bachelor degree. It will be a great opportunity for me to understand the HKMA, such a professional government authority, and relative financial issues more and deeper. The experience in coordinating large-scale public functions is of great preciousness to me.

With the good communication and interpersonal skills, relevant job experience and my enthusiasm about financial issues, I believe that I am competent to take up this post. And it is my honor to be one of the student ambassadors of the HKMA Information Centre.
