Dear Sir / Madam

I wish to apply for the Commercial Banking and Retail Banking First Year Internship, currently being advertised on the HSBC website. Please find enclosed my CV for your consideration.

As you can see from my choice of degree and the modules in which I have decided to focus on, that I have a keen interest in working within the financial sector. Having an internship with a global company such as HSBC I feel would provide a perfect opportunity to learn and apply a vast array of new skills. A big attraction of working at HSBC is due to the fact that ethically the company have been shown to care about the wider community, demonstrated in 2013 with over $100 million being spent on community investment programmes around the world.

Since being at University, studying Business I have been able to develop further my numeracy skills in terms of the accounting aspect of the course in addition to learning the theory behind the numerical data in modules such as Personal Finance Management. I have achieved in my first year to date, an average mark of 70% throughout all modules and am hoping to maintain first class honours in my summer examinations.
