I’m writing to apply for the spring internship at HSBC for commercial banking. I would be a perfect fit for this position as I’m determined, hard working, I posses great interpersonal and problem solving skills.

I am in my second year of a Masters degree in Biochemical engineering at University Collage London. Through my degree I have developed an extensive knowledge in mathematics and statistics which has improved my analytical, quantitative and modelling skills. I believe these skills would equip me for the Sales and trading industry.

I developed my leadership and interpersonal skills by being the welfare officer of the African Caribbean Society at UCL. Through this I have to communicate effectively to the committee and to the people on the society about upcoming events and also helping to plan and organize events the the society are holding. I play competitively for the women’s basketball team at UCL, which helps me manage and organize my time effectively by balancing University work and while attending training and games. I have also developed my team working skills by playing closely with my team.

My professional experience includes a weak at British glass in Sheffield and here I learnt about the engineering industry though not solely related to technology, I still picked up a lot about professionalism in the work place and how to apply to skills to different situations, making me versatile and adaptable. Above all I’m enthusiastic about this industry and very eager to learn and I’d love to be given the opportunity to do a spring week at HSBC.

I believe HSBC is a highly dynamic environment which would allow me to flourish and constantly develop new skills. I believe HSBC would be an excellent way to gain exposure to the technology environment.
