Dear Sir or Madam,

With a great track record in the marketing franchise in recent years, it is with great pleasure that I submit my resume to Havas Edge for the Brand Strategy Assistant Internship. I believe that my interpersonal skills, communication skills, and my experience in marketing make me a perfect candidate for the position.

I am currently a rising sophomore at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with intended concentrations in Finance and Marketing. I also plan to pursue a minor in International Relations. Relevant courses that I took this year include Marketing, Management, Writing Seminar on Street Art, Introduction to International Relations and Operations and Information Management. As my school term comes to an end, I have started looking for a summer job that would allow me to explore my personal career interests. At Havas Edge, I would develop crucial marketing skills by learning about effective ways to build relationships with consumers in order to create mutual value.

Over the last year, I have developed many professional skills while studying at the Wharton School. I worked with the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network, which allowed me to have a real, professional experience with a client. At this company, I answered phone calls and cold called other companies. I also had to document my consulting team’s progress and present status reports to my client on a weekly basis. My role advanced my communication and interpersonal skills. In this project, I learned the value vertical integration and teamwork, as I worked with ten other team members to launch a social media campaign and run a gala for the company.

In my hometown, Regina, Saskatchewan located in Canada, I worked as a promotional representative at a marketing company called Captive Audience. I went to events and promoted products and services for large companies in Canada. My role required me to approach strangers and engage them in what I was promoting. I was a good fit for the job as I have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality.

My creative pursuits would also make me an ideal candidate for the job. Over the last year, I have developed my written communication through skills learned from my writing course and from writing for the Odyssey.

My long term goal is to one day working in the business industry in New York City. No matter if I decide to enter the field of investment banking or advertising, an internship at Havas Edge will help me gain real professional experience that will be crucial to whatever career path I choose.
