Sample cover letter for Internship position at Hewlet Packard

Dear Sir/Madame,

I am writing to show the extent of my excitement for Hewlett Packard, and this is how it goes. I am a customer and a fan of Packard’s products and have never been disappointed far beyond figuring out why my printers use to jam before the laser jet era. I believe the current state of the company is a product of out-dated models and tired employees which is probably why given the current fall in stock prices the executives are reducing the workforce and vying for a division of the company.

That being said, I truly see myself working and beginning a career at HP, the company that has history in the most competitive business in the world, that is, computers, and has made strides in its hallmark printing business which is frankly unparalleled and deserves a revamp in order to propel the business back into the good graces of the stock market which in all honestly is not valuing HP even a fraction of what it is really worth. I have several great suggestions, which I would be happy to pitch!

This may not have been a conventional covering letter, but it is the product of constructive thought. I hope to hear from you for an interview or even a Skype call.
