My name is XXX and I am a junior pursuing a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance at the University of Southern California. Houlihan Lokey’s prestige as the No. 1 global advisor in restructuring is a key driver for me applying for the Summer Financial Analyst position. Being a smaller Investment Banking firm, I am excited in the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and work closely with senior-level professionals in the firm.

I can always relate events in my life to numbers and try to quantify experiences to properly analyze situations. This is why I find Finance so intriguing; I truly enjoy quantitative analysis and the idea of earning returns from decisions based on my findings. I believe that my leadership and analytical skills, paired with my desire to learn from experienced professionals, will make me a successful Summer Financial Analyst at Houlihan Lokey.

Throughout my college experience, I have been very active on and off campus. Working with XXX, I gained a lot of experience preforming evaluations on commercial real estate assets. Through conducting comparative market analyses, I found comparable properties sold within a relative time window. I used analytical skills to determine the best prices for investors to put offers on property investments. As the Finance Director for all club affairs on campus I gained experience in overseeing transactions and dealing with large budgets, including a $50,000 reserve account. Being a Student Government Senator gave me the opportunity to master my leadership skills, as I led multiple projects aimed at saving students financial resources. I am particularly proud of my accomplishments spearheading the XXX, which saved commuter students $900.00 annually in transportation fees.
