Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is XXX and I am writing to apply for your Technology Placement that I found advertised on www.ratemyplacement.co.uk. I am a second year student studying BSc Computing at XXX.

My interest in IBM stems from my passion for technology. The research and innovation that has been conducted over the last few years fascinates me. My interest in Bitcoin led to me stumbling upon IBM’s research into block chain-based systems, a technology that will benefit corporations worldwide by securing data stores against tampering. This is merely one example of what ignited my passion towards securing this role.

The nature of my degree has prepared me for this position by introducing me to the essential computing concepts relevant in business today. Assignments and projects have developed my skills in website design, database development, systems analysis and more. Furthermore they have enhanced my capacity to work in a team by testing us to produce technical solutions to business related issues. My latest modules are based around computer and Internet security expanding my knowledge in an area of computing becoming increasingly more paramount.My enthusiasm and strong work ethic has been developed from managing my studies as well as part-time work, this enables me to stay focused in achieving my goals. My ability to think laterally and my problem solving skills coupled with my excellent customer-faced experience will enable me to work together with clients to produce solutions that they desire.
