I am writing to demonstrate my interest in participating in the London Industry Insight Programme 2017.

After my expected completion of an MSc in Financial Markets at XXXXX Business School, my ambition being to work in the Risk management field in trading rooms, I am naturally very interested in ICAP’s Insight Programme. By taking part in this Insight Programme, I would acquire very valuable insight into the workings of an acknowledged financial service provider.

Consistent presence in the FTSE 250 index shows that ICAP is able to thrive despite the troubled and rapid changing financial landscape, moreover ICAP ranking 1^st broker in 24 categories according to the Risk Award 2015 settles even more ICAP’s presence in the world of Risk Management and Market Operating against its strong competitors such as BGC Partners or Tradition. These results demonstrate that ICAP is highly trusted as a financial service provider by its customers.

ICAP’s unique Charity Day shows that it follows its values with honesty which I totally adhere to, this being a critical criterion in my future career decisions.

By actively taking part in the Industry Insight Programme, I would have a better understanding in the various aspect of Brokerage and Risk Management inside a successful institution, it would also provide me with essential knowledge of financial markets and its actors which would be a real asset for my future career. I am eager to learn more about the relationship between ICAP and other financial institutions such as investment banks. Being very interested in the Electronic Markets and Post Trade Risk Mitigation business of ICAP I am keen to take part in the Work-Shadowing session of the Industry Insight and have premium interactions with the professionals to learn about their work in depth. Being a very social person I would also enjoy the group work sessions and I would learn a lot with and from my colleagues.

ICAP is very close to technology which I relate to from my experience as the partner relationship manager of my student association XXXXX. Its goal is to organize an exhibition of new technologies and innovations in the region of XXXXX, the previous edition gathered 4000 visitors and 30 start-ups, it was elected most innovative association of France during the Aneo contest in 2016. Through this experience I had the chance to express my interest in technologies and develop my communication and negotiation skills as my role was to prospect for start-ups to come at our exhibition as well as find and set up partnership contracts with sponsors such as Rebull and Lydia for a video game tournament that brought 150 participants. I was working as part of a team, I taught, allocated and monitored the work done by newly arrived members of the student organization.

By obtaining a black belt in karate in only 3 years of practice, I gained a sense of hardworking, rigor and self-control which I further developed during my years in preparatory school that prepares for the entrance examination for the best Engineering and Business schools of France with a focus on abstract Mathematics and Physics.

I believe that all these skills are relevant for a professional workplace and I seek to strengthen them and develop new ones.
