Sample cover letter for Full Time position at IDB

Dear Recruiting Director,

I’m writing to express my interest in the Defined Termed Consultancy in the IDB. I am familiar with the complex challenges of today’s global water crisis and I am very eager to take part in bringing about innovative and sustainable solutions. Based on my program management expertise, grant management skills and passion for water, I believe I am a strong candidate for this position.

I recently concluded my Master’s degree where I honed my project management skills and devoted the majority of my coursework to the water and sanitation field. Examples of my coursework include using ArcGIS and Google Earth models to map water pollution and poverty.

Prior to pursuing my postgraduate studies, I worked with the organization’s programmatic and administrative operations, edited donor reports, assessments and evaluations in Spanish and English, and assisted the Country Director in all backstopping and administrative tasks. 

These qualifications are representative of the value I offer to the IDB and can prove to be essential when collaborating with the Administrative Coordinator to ensure objectives are met and delivery of activities are successful.
