I am referred by Mrs. Ho and would like to apply for a summer internship at your firm.I am currently in the second year of my law degree at the City University of Hong Kong.

My research paper on the appropriateness of penalizing inchoate offences makes me reflect upon what constitutes criminal behavior and the complexity in deciding the degree of penalties. I wish to broaden my knowledge of criminal law further by having practical experience.

I am interested in Intellectual Property Law and have therefore taken a four-week law course on Intellectual Property offered by the Monash University. My research paper on the introduction of a US-style “fair use” defense to copyright infringement doctrine drew my attention to the importance of balancing the rights between copyright owners and users. It also strengthens my legal research and analytical skills when comparing the legal policy between Australia and the United States.
