Gender officer
Dear Sir or Madam,
Provide advisory, substantive and technical contributions and guidance in the area of gender equality and girls’/women’s empowerment to programme and central services staff based in Headquarters, in the Field Offices and the Category I Institutes, particularly regarding the inclusion of gender equality perspectives in the formulation and implementation of policies, programmes and projects in UNESCO’s fields of competence;
Contribute to the updating and implementation of capacity building and training in gender equality activities of the Division for all levels of staff at HQ and in the field;
Conduct research, analysis and assessments, compile materials and contribute to the updating of gender mainstreaming tools (such as guidelines, checklists, etc.) resources and good practices;
Participate in partnership building and assist in fund raising and resource mobilisation for gender equality initiatives, through development and preparation of donor proposals on the basis of situational analysis and needs assessments, in line with the Medium Term Strategy for 2014-2021 and GEAP II;
Participate in communication and advocacy efforts through provision of technical support for the development of policy briefs, talking points and other corporate products;
