Sample cover letter for Full Time position at Integration Consulting

POSITION:

Consultant

Dear Sir/Madam,

As an LSE graduate I am writing to apply for your 2016 Graduate Management Consulting position as advertised on the TARGET jobs website. Integration Consulting stood out for me for the culture of working hand in hand with clients and its structured ability to face complex projects. I strive to work for a company that combines professionalism and close relations with its clients and I believe that my work and life experiences have given me the essentials to tackle problems in an effective and creative way under a team setting.

Growing up, I always tried to engage in educing positive change into people’s lives. Studying at the LSE and the University of Sheffield I strived to tackle complex problems. While studying in Sheffield, I participated in a group urban policy project, where we suggested solutions to ‘Narrow the Life Expectancy Gap across UK cities’. I analysed statistical relations and presented our findings, winning the first place in the competition. Through my internship with KMPG, I was in direct contact with clients and attended meetings where we advised clients on book keeping procedures. Advising entrepreneurs and convincing them to change their practices was both challenging and fulfilling to me. It was with great pleasure that I could see the evident efficiency improvements in the preparation of their financial statements. It is this passion to bring positive change to people and their businesses that urged me to start my career as a consultant in a leading firm like Integration Consulting.

Reading your course of action on the supply chain project I grasped the intensity and complexity of problems that the company is willing to tackle, something that I am eager to be part of. My work experience in supply chain optimisation for Holborn European Marketing Ltd exposed me to the complexity and importance of supply chain planning. The projected $35m in savings is a huge success for the company and a proof of the good work made. Moreover, the hand-in-hand culture of the company completely aligns with my consulting perspective. It makes sure that the entrepreneur feels valuable and part of the process form day one and is not given a ready-made course of action from the consultant. This is very important for today’s businesses, which I believe is what sets Integration Consulting apart from some of its competitors. Collaboration with clients is key to the successful implementation of change and I am willing to bring value to the company by using my strong social skills.

My exposure in extra-curricular activities has enabled me to develop soft skills such as Leadership, Communication and Maturity. Being chosen to captain and coach my university water polo team, I led and motivated people in training and games, reaching the semi-finals of the British University Competition. My military experience is also proof of my leadership and communication skills, where I dealt with people from different backgrounds. Through everyday training, I made sure my soldiers were always in high spirits, resulting in being awarded for Excellency by the chief of my army camp for my duties.

I would welcome the opportunity to bring my skills, knowledge and experiences to this position at Integration Consulting. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to discussing my application with you in more detail.
