Firstly, I would like to thank you for extending an early application invitation and for the time in considering my application. As a motivated Finance and Accounting major student who has exhibited completed relevant international work experience and consistent record of extracurricular activities. I am assertive that I possess not only the necessary skills but also the attitude to be a successful and pleasant candidate in the Corporate Finance, Investment Banking program. Furthermore, I see myself as a diverse individual as I am heavily influenced by Hong Kong culture. This is translated in my ability to learn and integrate effectively within a group/culture as shown during my internship at Octal Capital Limited, a boutique corporate finance operating in Hong Kong. My time there although memorable and insightful, it represented one of the hardest challenges I have faced. Not only did I face certain cultural barriers but also as a first year student there was a significant knowledge gap. But through consistent application, learning valuation techniques not yet taught and effective communication with my co-workers, I was able to consistently meet deadlines whilst achieving quality and maintain relationships that still last to this day. I am a passionate and diverse individual who possesses an eagerness to learn coupled with the skills and tools to thrive in an environment where teamwork is required. An interesting experience in the past that I was privy to, was the reverse takeover of Same Time Holdings Limited acquired by GCL Poly Limited (3800:SEHK). During my time there I was under the tutelage of former executive director Chi Shing Chung where he guided me through the intricacies of a reverse takeover and through shadowing him I learn the importance of investment bankers in advising such transactions. This in turn gave me inspiration on becoming an investment banker myself. I have furthered my experience through case competitions like the Macquarie Capital management consulting competition where my team was required to advise on an acquisition strategy. I believe JP Morgan is a place where like-minded individuals gather, flourish whilst burning the midnight oil and I would love nothing more to be apart of the team.
