Sample cover letter for Internship position at JP Morgan

POSITION:

Global Wealth Management Analyst

To whom may concern,

I am a junior at Harvard University, and writing to apply for the Global Wealth Management Summer Analyst Program at JP Morgan. I am very interested in strategic transactions an diverse assets. It is with enthusiasm that I ask to contribute my exceptional analytical and quantitative skills to this exciting summer internship position.

I am a good candidate for this position not only because of my strong quantitative skills which I continue to build upon from academics but also because of my transaction and team oriented ability. As the finance chair of the Harvard College in Asia Program, I learned how to manage financial statements and make financial transactions. My 15-hour weekly commitment at the Harvard Student Agencies, the world’s largest student-run business, has helped me discover a desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment. Collaborating with 7 other managers to operate 3 physical stores and 1 online store, I realized a team’s success is never based on one person’s achievement. I also managed to prioritize my time well under pressure and perform well on projects concurrently especially when I had to work for the same amount of hours during finals week.

My interest in numbers and finance has been growing since I led the Finance committee for student organizations, but my last summer’s internship has further confirmed my dedication to building a career in the industry. I learned to conduct due diligence and effectively communicate with clients and institutions. I also realized that I did not mind the long hours at all; on the contrary, I always found myself working past midnight in the office doing research on company’s portfolios and analyzing balance sheets.

Please feel free to call me to set up an interview, or if you need more information. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Kylie
