When Gamru Village School, located in Dharamsala, needed donations to increase its programs, I created a media strategy that netted worldwide contributions. In Florence, I studied cooking for 15 weeks and now understand what it takes for flour to become butternut squash ravioli. Getting lost in Paris, I had to think quickly and sprang into French to find someone who could give me directions before I missed my train. Visiting Turkey, I had to employ hand gestures to get my messages across because I didn’t speak the native language.
