Sample cover letter for Internship position at KPMG

POSITION:

Tax Intern

Dear KPMG hiring manager,

I am writing to express my excitement and interest in your winter 2016 tax internship. I am a junior accounting major and I am eager to put the skills and knowledge I have accumulated throughout my time at this university to work at KPMG.

For the past two summer seasons, I have been an intern at a local income tax department learning how to prepare and audit city tax returns and analyze data to evaluate collection processes. I have truly enjoyed my experience working for government officials and people concerned with the betterment of the community, but I see myself in the field of public accounting long term and am looking for an opportunity to grow professionally while making significant contributions to the success of the company through an internship program just like this one.

I believe that my personable yet goal driven nature would make me a great fit with the company and the employees who work there. My hope is that I will have the opportunity to meet you and discuss some of the other reasons I would fit well in the collaborative culture and be able to effectively manage the numerous responsibilities.

Please feel free to contact me via phone or email to set up an interview. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
