Sample cover letter for Internship position at KPMG

POSITION:

Audit

Dear Hiring Manager,

My name is Lucaba Boyd, a senior at AIB College of Business and I would like to be considered for your audit intern position. I am interested in the position because I have wanted to be in public accounting since beginning my college education. After learning about audit services from various professionals, it has inspired me to pursue a career in audit because of the ability to travel across the country, work with various clients, and examine financial situations.

I have been a dedicated student-athlete while in college. During this time I developed several skills and knowledge that would be effective in your workplace. In the classroom, I grew my analytical, mathematical, decision making, and problem solving skills. From missing classes due to golf, I was forced to teach myself a lot of the material and make sense of it without classroom knowledge. In golf, I gained leadership and knowledge about professional mannerisms that further developed my skills. As the leader of the golf team, I took pride in creating a team environment during an individual sport. I made sure that everyone kept their attitude positive and we all were working towards a common goal.

I attached my resume for your review as well. I hope that we can arrange to speak so that I can discuss at greater length the contribution that I believe I can make to this internship. Should you require an additional information, I can be contacted at the phone number and e-mail listed above.

Best Regards,
