POSITION:

Audit Intern

This letter serves as my initial step to applying for the 2016 winter internship program of audit practice referenced at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign I-link database. I am an undergraduate senior majoring in Accounting and currently enrolling in the Mater Accounting of Science program of UIUC. As an accounting student, I know my leadership activities and working experience will make me an asset to the audit practice position in KPMG.

Through my experience as a vice president of Tzu Chi Association at UIUC campus, I developed strong leadership skills by planning fund-raising events and leading members to voluntarily help in Meadowbrook Nursing Center. I lead the organization raised more than $500 a day to support the Power of Five project in Africa and built a great reputation among all charitable organizations in UIUC. I believe my leadership skills will fit well with business environment in KPMG.

In addition to developing leadership skills at campus, I also developed analytical skills and teamwork skills from real-situation work. In summer 2015, I worked as an internal audit intern in a national recognized commercial bank named Hua Xia Co., Ltd. I joined a team of three to audit the financial statements associated with marketing expense. I independently checked the invoices, matching the number from documents with financial statements. Using the audited financial statement, our team provided internal control suggestions to the senior managements. I believe in this internship program, I developed strong analytical skills by conducting the risk assessment in the internal control designing and teamwork skills by communicating with team members and senior managers.
