Sample cover letter for Internship position at Kambo
Sustainability Analyst
Dear Human Resources Manager,
In line with the Canadian government’s determination to reduce Canada’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to below 17% of 749 Mt CO2 eq, 2005 levels by 2020, demand side energy management in Canadian buildings stand to play an important role in achieving this aim. In first world countries, building stocks comprising of residential, commercial and industrial buildings; consume a large percentage of energy generated from centralized sources, which are largely fossil fuel driven. To curtail this effect, which will assist the government in achieving its aim, whilst conserving the environment and saving operation costs of building stocks over the building's life-span, the concept of energy efficiency through energy audits which enables management and servicing, which Kambo specialises in becomes appealing.
Having a passion to contribute to the challenges posed by climate change, sustainable development and tackling the issue of sustainable energy provision due to pending world population explosion prompted my decision to obtain a Masters in Energy and Industrial Sustainability from De MontFort University, Leicester, UK. This provided me with several opportunities and exposures to energy issues, both technically; with course works and projects, and hands-on experience as a carbon counter; having interned with the faculty of Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD) during my course of study. I have conducted several building energy analysis and energy audits, both with instrumentations and automation with databird and python programming Language.
Accepting challenges at different work environment and flexibility to meet clients demand is the foundation of my education and work experience. You will find me a committed individual who takes pride in doing the right things, more than willing to learn, punctual and communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
I look forward to a feedback from you to discuss how my experience would be beneficial to Kambo. You may reach me at the above telephone number or email address to arrange an interview.
Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
